Join us on our crusade to help save chimps!
During the month of December, we are devoted to raising funds for the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center and In Defense of Animal-Africa (IDA-Africa). The Sanaga Yong Center was started by Portland veterinarian Dr. Sheri Speede, and provides sanctuary for chimpanzees rescued from abuse or orphaned by the illegal bush-meat trade.
Here are several ways you can help save a chimp:
1. Buy a beer brewed especially for this cause by Fearless Brewing Company in Estacada, OR, called “Baati Brown Ale”, named for one of the chimpanzees at the Rescue Center. This beer will be available at all the Planets during the month of December, and ALL net proceeds from the sale of the beer will benefit Sanaga-Yong.
2. Also for sale will be a commemorative beer glass with the “Baati Brown Ale” crest.
3. All month long, we will be selling a calendar with gorgeous photos of the chimps at Sanaga-Yong, again with all proceeds going to the Rescue Center.
4. Attend our Chimpanzee Benefit which is at our Woodstock location on Wednesday, December 16th. This event is free and open to the public. During the evening, a free slide show will be given by Dr. Sheri Speede, the director and founder of the Chimpanzee Rescue Center.
5. Do your holiday shopping at our benefit on December 16th. Buy chimp-themed t-shirts, mugs and hats at our Woodstock Benefit starting at 5pm.

6. If you can’t attend the benefit, just eat at any Laughing Planet, on December 16th and all net proceeds from sales will be donated as well.
